Ford Galaxy 1 at Ford updates Galaxy and S Max for 2010

Since its launch, Ford Galaxy has always been considered as the coolest van in the market, which is not a surprise because it comes with fantastic design inside and out, very nice features and good engines. Now for the new year, Ford has refreshed the Galaxy and its sportier variant, the S-Max with revised styling, new powertrains and new safety and luxury equipments. The new models will be unveiled at 2010 Brussels Motor Show.

Both cars get new styling cues inspired by Ford’s Kinetic design. You get new bonnets, modified bumpers, new LED lights at front and rear, even more chrome than before on the grille, round of side windows, on the tailgate and…

As for the engines, the new vans will be offered with Ford’s new high-efficiency EcoBoost 4-cylinder petrol and 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel which cover Euro V standards. Based on the engine you choose you can have 115, 140, 161, 163 or 203 hp. The Galaxy and S-Max can be had with Ford PowerShift double wet-clutch transmission system.

Ford is also offerign new innovative safety features for this model including Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), and new Rear Door Power Child Lock facility. This BLIS is very clever radar-based system which constantly controls the blind spots around the car and compensate for it. Another new system is the Adjustable Speed Limiter Device, by which you can limit the top speed yourself!

The interior of the cars is also upgraded with new colours, graphics and materials. They can be had with five or seven seats which fold away thanks to Ford FoldFlatSystem. The Sportier S-Max gets a new panorama roof equipped with power sun blinds, and LED interior lighting system.  A new Premium Sound System with eight-channel amplifier with an overall output of 265 Watts and a subwoofer is also added to the options list for both models.

Pricing on 2010 Ford galaxy and S-Max will be announced at the time of market launch in early 2010.
