General Motors has released official pictures of the new Chevrolet Aveo RS previewing the new generation of Aveo hatchback which will debut at 2010 Detroit Motor Show. Unlike the previous model, there’s no sign of dullness in the face of new Aveo, and although this car you see here is a concept and is wearing RS bodykit, but the word is that the actual basic production model is just as good.
Chevrolet designers have done a fantastic job with this car and created a shape that not only is really really handsome, it is also practical and versatile for everyday use. They have pushed the wheels to the corners and therefore the car has four big doors which makes it easier to live it, and the interior is roomy and spacious with enough head and legroom for people with heads and legs! In comparison, you can consider BMW 1-series, which has rear doors so small even a kid would struggle to get in and literally no rear legroom at all! Let alone its hideous looks and stupidly high price.
This concept version has some unique features, most of them won’t be available in the production model. Some of the coolest factors include electric Boracay Blue, twin central exhausts and 19-inch, five-spoke wheels with a gun metal metallic finish Chevy logo.
The interior is done in matte black with the same blue theme as the exterior with accent stitching across the dual cockpit instrument panel, front and rear door insert, steering wheel rim, gear shift boot, parking brake, leather seat bolster and even the floor mats. It also has a analog tachometer set within an asymmetrical LCD readout which is inspired by motorcycles. The rear seats in the Aveo can be folded flat to increase luggage space.
The Aveo RS concept is powered by Chevy Cruze’s 1.4L I-4 Ecotec turbocharged engine with 138-horsepower (103 kW) which is tuned for maximum fuel efficiency. It is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
