Ferrari 599 GTO in the works

Ferrari 599XX at Ferrari 599 GTO in the works

Today’s second sportscar rumor is about the Ferrari 599! The word is that the Italians are developing a semi stripped-out version of the 599 GTB, which will inherit some of the 599XX’s features, and might even get a GTO badge. The 599 GTB is such a perfect car that apparently the only way Ferrari can improve it is by using their racing know-how.

In essence, 599 GTO will be like the 430 Scuderia. It’ll compromise on luxury, but instead the engine will be a bit more powerful, the chassis will be a bit more precise, the steering will be a bit more accurate and the electronics will be a bit more complicated. And all these bits will result in a big difference. So this car can very well be the ultimate strret-legal track-focused car for the Gentleman racers!

The GTO is expected to have around 700 hp and 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 3.2 seconds and top speed of around 350 km/h. As for the price it will be like a $100,000 more than a standard 599. And that’s fine by us as long as it gets a body like the 599XX’s!
