Subaru has just released yet another special edition of the Impreza which again is based on the WRX STI and is only available inside Japan. Subaru thinks of this car as an evolution for the Spec C model, and they call it the R205 in which the “R” stands for “Road Sport”! It is powered by an optimized version of the same 2.0 liter turbocharged boxer engine and is limited to 400 units.
With the help of the new exclusively designed turbocharger with ball bearings for the turbine axle bearing, specially tuned ECU (Engine Control Unit), and the sport muffler with lowered back pressure exhaust, the R205 has 325 hp and 431 nm of torque. It also has some new styling features such as the front spoiler, new rear diffuser and new black rear wing. Other visual factors include 18-inch alloy wheels, specially colored front grille and side STI garnish.
Subaru has also paid great attention to the car’s handling and road behavior. It comes with STI tuned dampers, coil springs, flexible type strut tower bar, flexible type lower arm stiffener of front suspension, and Bridgestone’s specially designed RE070 tires.
