Two major Japanese car manufacturer are facing deep troubles these days, all because of some faulty parts which made them to recall millions of cars for fixation, before they cause harm to someone and become lawsuit! It started with Toyota as they recalled 3.8 million vehicles worldwide in the biggest recall in history, and you know why?! Unsecure floor mats!
Apparently these floor mats, in some condition, cause the accelerator pedal to stick to the floor, which should be kinda exciting! The fix is very simple, they just have to replace the floor mats, but given the huge volume affected cars, it’s a serious headache for Toyota as they temporarily put the production of some models on hold.
The affected models include:
- 2007-2010 Camry
- 2005-2010 Avalon
- 2004-2009 Prius
- 2005-2010 Tacoma
- 2007-2010 Tundra
- 2007-2010 ES 350
- 2006-2010 IS 250 and IS350
Honda too is joining Toyota recalling 646,000 units of its Fit, Jazz and City models globally! Honda’s fault is a bit more complicated, as there’s a defective power window switch, that can cause fire if water infiltrates into it. They had to recall affected vehicles after three cases were reported, two of them in USA and one in South Africa.
