From Beijing Porsche presents a new variant of Porsche Panamera and Panamera4 equipped with a new 3.6 lite V6 engine. If we cut straight to the chase, it has 300hp or 220kw of power with 400 Nm/295 lb-ft of peak torque. Equipped with PDK gearbox and Auto Start Stop system, it averages 9.3 liters/100 kilometers (30.4 mpg) for the two-wheel-drive model and 9.6 liter (29.4 mpg) for the all-wheel-drive version.

As for the Co2 emissions, Panamera V6 has a rating of 213 g/km, while the Panamera 4 is a bit more polluting at 220 g/km. Nevertheless they both cover Euro5 standards.

These new models are supposed to be efficient, but to be honest with “claimed” fuel consumption of around 10 liters per 100 Km, they are not! That’s because the engine is rather big at 3.6 liters, and it was alright if it was  more powerful, but 300hp?! You get that from a four-cylinder Subaru these days! Furthermore, the performance would suffer as well, because although the V6 engine is lighter than the V6, the car still weighs 1,730 kg, so…

And for this ugly, supposedly slow and not that economical four-seater model, Porsche asks you at least 75,899 Euros! If you want the Panamera4 with the PDK gearbox, that starts form 84,110 Euro!! Honestly, you gotta be clinically mad to buy this thing 🙂
