Peugeot released a bunch of brand-new images of the new 508 sedan which will replace the handsome 407 in 2011. Like all its predecessors including 504, 405, 406 and 407 (no, 607 was awful!), the 508 looks fabulous and is much cooler than its German rivals. But this being French traditionally puts you off when you are out shopping for a mid-size sedan. French sedans have never been the most reliable and they also had some issues with quality as well. Anyone who owned a pre 2005 French sedan know what we’re on about!
The new models though, being a production of 2011, have highest standards in terms of safety, quality and well, reliability, even though the brand’s image is still the same. If you are looking for reasons to choose this over fine German saloons, well just park it next to a 5-series Bimmer or an E-Class Merc. The Pug has plenty of what they lack: the soul and passion.

Those “quality” German cars didn’t score very well in the April 2011 issue of Consumer Reports
