In the eighth annual ALD Automotive/Total ECO 10 MPG Marathon, a Peugeot 308 HDi 90 Millesim edition managed to exceed all expectations, and the official government Combined figure, by more than 21 mpg averaging 84.41 mpg over the 400 mile MPG Marathon route! The car was driven by members of the general public, not by professional or specialist drivers and that shows how astonishing this record is.
The Millesim is a celebration model of the 308 range, commemorating the Peugeot brand’s 200-year anniversary, and features a number of value enhancing extras as standard. This record proves again that you don’t need to buy expensive and generally ugly hybrids, while such diesel models can do much better at much lower cost.
