You might remember the Venturi name and indeed this timeless design created by Sacha Lakic. Now the Monaco-based company, which by the way was one of the first to develop electric sports cars with the Venturi Fetish, is trying out a whole new niche with the Venturi America buggy!
It is still a pure electric car with over 300 hp (+220 kW) and torque of 380 Nm, but it’s transformed into a a high-powered lightweight vehicle with a chassis specially designed to suit its particularly high body. It is as Venturi says half sports car, half buggy, all fun!
As mentioned the America gets the same VM300 powertrain as its sporty sibling, but to get the best out of the engine, a new 54 kWh battery pack has been developed (LIV-10 Lithium Ion Polymer batteries) whose electronics (Battery Management System) have been entrusted to Ventec, the leader in the field. That means it has a real world range of up to 300 km.
The car features a carbon monocoque structure for rigidity and has a body with two deformable cells positioned at the front and rear of the vehicle. This concept guarantees the security of the battery pack in the event of an accident and provides a level of safety never before attained in an electric car.
This electric buggy is called the America because the company has launched Venturi North America branch in Columbus, Ohio.
