Ford made it official today that while they continue to cooperate with Mazda in areas of mutual benefits, they are going to reduce their stake in the Japanese company to 3.5 percent from 11 percent. Ford says this transaction allows it to increase flexibility as it continues to pursue growth in key emerging markets. FoMoCo will remain committed to its strategic partnership with Mazda and carry on the current flow of key joint ventures and exchange of technology information.
