Just in time for the cold season Skoda is introducing a new 4×4 all-wheel-drive system for selected models of Octavia and Superb range. Incorporating a fourth-generation Haldex clutch, this system ensures safe driving on slippery roads and tricky conditions where a two-wheel-drive would struggle to find grip.
Under normal traction conditions, 96% of the total power is directed to the front axle. In adverse weather conditions – similar to those experienced in the UK last winter – the Haldex system reacts in a split second to redirect power to those wheels with better traction, greatly increasing driving safety.
Since Skoda is popular car for caravaners they also point out that in summer days these system will make it easier towing caravans and trailers!
You can get Skoda’s new AWD system with the 2.0 TDI CR 140bhp engine with automatic DSG transmission on hatchback and estate versions of the Superb, Octavia Estate and Octavia Scout.
