Even to the very last minutes of 2010 the recall saga continues! The, hopefully, last recall of the year has been issued by Ford Motor Company. They’re recalling 14,737 units of F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, Edge and Lincoln MKX due to a faulty body-control module which may result in an electrical short, and eventually fire.

This defective modules that are built within a six-day period have reportedly caused two F-150s burst in fire. Luckily for Ford that happened at the Dearborn Assembly Plant! According to NTHSA : “If an electrical short develops, an overheating condition may occur, which can result in an unattended vehicle fire”.

Owners of the recalled vehicles will be notified by Ford before January 10. Dealers will inspect and replace the module if necessary, free of charge.
