Chrysler 300 Hybrid Confirmed For 2013

Even though it would be very uncool for a handsome gangsta car such as the Chrysler 300 to become a hybrid, but if it wants to survive in this day and age it has to! Speaking to Autonews in Detroit, Sergio Marchionne confirmed his company’s plans to launch a hybrid version of the 300 in 2013.

2013 Chrysler 300 hybrid will be powered by a gasoline-electric mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. There’s no other detail available on the car for the time being, but Chrysler hopes they pull it off better this time than their last attempt to make hybrid cars back in 2008, which were canned as the company went bust a year later.

The hybrid system for the 300 Sedan will probably be a mixture of the Pentastar V6 and an electric motor. It’s not likely for them to use the HEMI V8 for that matter, becasue after all the whole point of a hybrid is fuel economy not performance.
