When it comes to choosing an MPV for the family the first and foremost factor people consider is safety. That matters becasue MPVs are mostly used to take the kids around and do the school run. So if you are looking for one of the safest MPVs on the market, here it is. EuroNCAP awarded Toyota Verso as the safest MPV of 2010.

That means the Verso not only passed all the strict crash tests with flying colors and gained five stars, it has also performed better than all of the competition. In March last year Toyota’s seven-seat compact people carrier was given the top five-star rating for all-round safety performance by Euro NCAP, the industry’s benchmark testing organisation. More than that, Verso achieved the highest combined percentage scores in each test category of any MPV subjected to the independent crash test and assessment programme.

Toyota Verso’s Euro NCAP scores:

  • 89 per cent result for adult occupant safety
  • 75 per cent for child occupants
  • 69 per cent for pedestrian impact
  • 86 per cent for safety assistance

Toyota Verso is fitted as standard with (UK Spec) seven airbags, ISO-fix child seat mounts, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), traction control (TRC), steering-assist Vehicle Stability Control (VSC+) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC). The car also has a well engineered and tough design and construction, including detailed features in the front end that help minimise injury risks to pedestrians.
