So you thought Jeremy Clarkson’s party for E-Type Jaguar’s 50th anniversary was huge! But they beat that at the Silverstone Classic this weekend with a parade of over 1000 E-Types.

In fact the E-type anniversary overshadowed all the other events at Silverstone Classic. In the leading 50th anniversary event for the iconic sports car, over 1000 E-types were on site and, on Saturday, more than 800 took part in a special parade on the full 3.6-mile Grand Prix circuit, forming a mammoth E-type traffic jam.

They have submitted the record to the Guinness World Records awaiting confirmation.

The E-types were joined by other classic Jags from all over the country, including C-types, D-types, XK120s, XK140s, XK150s and more recent performance models like the XKR. There was also a special race with 52 racing E-types taking part.

“This weekend has been a fantastic celebration of the E-type,” said Event Director, Nick Wigley. “Cars from all over the world have come to Silverstone to make the Silverstone Classic the biggest and best anniversary event for the E-type.”
