Toyota decided it’s time to add a little drama to the Prius’ dull character. So they announced the Prius PLUS Performance Package.
First designed for SEMA show, the Prius PLUS Performance accessories package improves not only the looks of the car with a sporty body kit, it also promises better handling and performance. It relies on components from Toyota Racing Development (TRD) for that.
It is far from aggressive and sporty as Toyota says in their press release, but the kit does a good job enhancing the feel of the car.
In terms of styling you can choose from four Blizzard Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Black and Winter Gray Metallic exterior colors to complement your seven-piece aerodynamic ground effects kit, consisting of front and rear bumper spoilers, sleek side skirts and a uniquely styled rear diffuser. Also part of the package are the race-inspired 17-inch forged alloy wheels, wrapped in 215/45R17 tires.
TRD has tweaked the suspension and lowered the ride height by 1.1 inches in the front and 1.3 inches in the rear to improve cornering, and installed a tuned rear sway bar for less body roll. They will also hook you up with limited-edition PLUS logo carpet floor mats and exclusive badging.
And the price of this kit, $3,699 for Prius Two, Three, and Four models and $2,999 for the Prius Five. Ordering for the limited production 2011 Prius PLUS Performance Package will begin in July.
