Infiniti confirmed, from Pebble Beach, that they will indeed put the IPL G Convertible into production to join the IPL G Coupe.
Infiniti Performance Line (IPL) is the Japanese company’s performance vehicles based on the production models. And it already has launched the G Coupe. The IPL G Cabrio, revealed earlier as a concept, will have the same IPL-tuned 3.7 liter, 350 hp V6, exhaust and suspension, 19-inch IPL aluminum-alloy wheels as the coupe, but also features a three-piece retractable hardtop and a unique red leather-appointed interior set against a Malbec Black exterior.
The production version will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
“The Infiniti Performance Line, as demonstrated by our first offering, the IPL G Coupe, challenges the concept of an ultra-high cost sports series. IPL pushes the premium performance envelope for buyers seeking a higher level of exclusivity and driving exhilaration, but does so with an Infiniti twist,” said Infiniti Americas Vice President Ben Poore. “The IPL G Convertible will deliver the goods, just like the current IPL G Coupe does. Plus, the new IPL G Convertible offers the added pleasure of open-air motoring.”
