Bentley Continental at New Details on Bentley SUV

In a recent interview, Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer revealed new facts about the brand’s highly anticipated SUV.

Bentley’s 4×4 crossover is codenamed internally as the project BY736 and it will share its platform with Audi Q7/VW Touareg/Porsche Cayenne. Good news is, for the next generation of these cars this system will be revised and shed 200-400kg off.

Bentley is also working on diesel and hybrid powetrain, and the SUV is very likely to get a diesel unit. Some say it’ll be a V12 TDI engine. Other option would be the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 form the new Conti V8. The current W12 engine too is going to be revised and can stay in business for years to come.

As for the looks, Durheimer says Bentley SUV would be a coupe-like soft-roader, or a jacked-up shooting brake five-door. It will be priced higher than Cayenne and Range Rover and will feature every single technology and convenience features available. It will definitely be in a class of it own.
