Years of anticipation is over and we can now catch the first glimpse of all-new 2012-13 Porsche 911 known as 991.
Mind you, these are not officially from Porsche these pictures (They are apparently artist renderings, but the details are bang on perfect). But they seem to be the real deal. The new 911 looks pretty much (almost exactly) like the old 997 at front. It’s just the slightly revised bumper and the new LED lights that make it distinguishable, not for everyone, but Porsche enthusiasts with a trained eye!
The side view is also the same as before, but the back-end is substantially different, thanks to the all-new taillights. These narrow new LED units, in combination with the new engine hood, create a unique design.
The interior is also completely revised, with a new center console like that of the Panamera and the Cayenne. The car is also slightly longer in length, which must mean there’s more room for the passengers inside the car.
As for the technicalities, while we are waiting for the official details to be released, we knew that it will come with a 3.4 liter in normal models and a 3.8 liter in the S versions. The base car makes around 350 PS, and the sportier S, 400 PS. The new 911’s party piece is a seven-speed manual gearbox!
Dunno why, but the new 911 looks like it is the best sportscar ever!
