Chevrolet decided not to bother showing the capabilities of the new 2012 Silverado pickup truck in the real world. Instead they used a Silverado toy and let a kid do the job. And they couldn’t have nailed it better. It is much stronger than any CGI-enriched million-dollar campaigns they could have come up with. Watching this ad I wanna be four all over again!

Where oh where can I get this truck? From the Posts already seen, it is not available, Yet. If and when it is made, could you please make one that can be used by a 3 year old too. Our Grandson "loves his Gampa's Big Gray Truck.
Not a chance Ralph, the diecast are a smaller scale and not even the same body style. Plus they are not really designed to be toys, more like display models. Kids want big trucks to put their Legos and Lincoln logs in the back. Ertl makes a blue Silverado now also that tows a trailer with a cow and a calf. The silver one is towing a John Deere skid steer. In my searches I found Ertl made a black Silverado also but it may be hard to find.
Nice message. Just what I want, a bunch of Barbie dolls for my sons to play with..
where can i get 2012 toy truck ?
I found Diecast Model Silverado toy trucks on Amazon.com. They are close enough to satisfy our children.
Nice looking Truck, I to would like to get one for my Grandson. As I can see people can’t find if, to bad it would go fast.
I just read on the Chevy Silverado page on facebook – that the truck was custom made for the commercial. It was a post from Oct 28th. Several people were asking where to get the truck and a chevrolet rep responded with that and told them to look in there local craft store. I didn’t see any there. Would love to have one too so if you find it please repost.
I need this truck! Like Ed, I want it for my grandson. And like Joshua’s son, he freaks out. My son in law just bought the real thing. Silver and all. Chevy needs to get moving on this.
To Ed and Chris, I have been looking for it also for my son, everytime he watches the TV Spot he freaks for it. Chevrolet needs to market these and I also think there is a huge demand for them.
Hey Ed, good question. I’ve looked and can’t find it (the toy truck) either. I even faxed the add company to find out and have gotten no reply. Its obviously plastic and has the hood, drivers door and tailgate that open. It looks similar to ERTL’s Big Farm series Silverado but is clearly different. The fine print has a mention of some toys used by permission of Hasbro. Hasbro does not show the truck on any website I have seen. GM’s collectible website does not have it listed either. Chevy is missing a huge marketing opportunity here. If this toy truck was on their collectible website that probably would not be able to keep up with the demand. I doubt it is a one off toy made especially for the commercial, although fairly well detailed, it still looks mass produced. Any body have any info?
Where can I get the toy truck, in the commercial, for my grandson? His dad has a full sized Silverado.
My kids too, when they were little my son and daughter would combine their toys and make roads with Lincoln log borders and buildings with Lincoln logs. They would use her Barbie dolls to ride in his Tonka trucks and play all around our big family room. This commercial really struck a cord with me and my family too. The kids now 26 and 24 each commented on how it reminded them of their childhood and how Dad (me) has always had a Chevy truck. Now my kids do too. Son has a Silverado and a Tahoe, daughter has a Tahoe also. Wife drives a Suburban and so do I most of the time. Still have my old pickup too!
Reminds me of my son, he is forever with a toy car in his hands.
