Not officially, but McLaren MP4-12C in the hands of Sports Auto magazine’s Editor-in-Chief has posted a Nurburgring Lap time of 7 minutes 28 seconds.

That is very fast, but not the best the car can do. Sport Auto’s record are usually a couple of seconds slower than the car’s full potential. Still, 7:28 is faster than Ferrari 458 and in fact many other supercars. It’s not surprising though, because a few month ago we saw how the MP4 slaughtered hyper cars at Top Gear test track with Stig at the wheel.

I’d still have the Ferrari though. You see as a machine the MP4 is brilliant, almost flawless, well, regardless of some software issues! But it’s too clinical compared to a 458. The Fezza itself is clinical too, compared to the bonkers Mercedes SLS, but at least it is exciting to look at and isn’t named after a copier machine.
