The small and Efficient Chevrolet Aveo, known elsewhere as Sonic, will go on sale in UK from January 2012, starting from £9,995.
The Aveo has a substantially different design over the established small hatchbacks currently available, and that’s good. The other winning factor for it is the value for money factor. The new Aveo is a very well-engineered car.
At launch, the Aveo will be available with four engines including a 1.2-litre petrol unit developing 86PS, a 1.4-litre petrol engine with 101PS or two 1.3-litre diesels, with power outputs of either 75 or 95PS. All of them come as standard with a five-speed manual gearbox, but the 1.4-litre models have the option of a six-speed automatic.
