Lexus revealed a more efficient version of the new generation GS in form of the GS 250 at Guangzhou motor show in China today.

This version of the Japanese saloon is powered by a 2.5-litre V6 petrol engine with D-4S direct port injection and Dual VVT-i intelligent valve timing. It makes 206bhp and peak torque of 253Nm, while averaging 31.7mpg (UK) with CO2 emissions of 207g/km.

The GS 250 comes with Lexus’s Super ECT-i close-ratio intelligent six-speed automatic transmission, or an auto ‘box in brief, and Drive Mode Select System. This gives the option of Eco, Normal and Sport S modes, while versions equipped with Adaptive Variable Suspension offer a further Sport S+ mode for even more dynamic performance.

The car also gets a range of new technology features, including a 12.3-inch multimedia screen, S-flow air conditioning system with nanoe air purifying technology, and a new Mark Levinson audio system with up to 17 speakers.

Lexus Gs 250 will be launched din June 2012 in the UK along with the GS 450h hybrid. Lexus won’t be making a diesel version of the car, but they do have a high-performance GS-F Model in the works. There is also the F-Sport version of G 350 for those who care more about the looks.
