After a couple of leaked shots Toyota finally reveals the Prius C, saying it’s a more accessible hybrid for the masses.
As the hatchback version of Toyota Prius, the C is designed to be the most efficient and most convenient city runabout. It is powered by the latest version of Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive and along with the Prius V extend the Prius family further.
Toyota has not confirmed any figures yet, but the car’s 75 hp powertrain is said to have fuel economy better than 50 mpg in the city. It makes the Prius C the most efficient car among the non-plug-in vehicles. It also has no range anxiety. They have been making hybrids for 14 years now, so it will be very reliable as well.
The Prius C is designed for younger buyers and modern families, so it comes with a range of connectivity features thanks to the Etune system. It allows users to connect with popular apps such as Bing™, OpenTable.com, and movietickets.com. Entune™ also provides access to real-time information services, such as live weather, traffic, fuel information (location and price), stocks, and sports. The Toyota Prius c also offers voice recognition, music streaming, and email/text to speech capabilities.
U.S. debut if Toyota Prius C is scheduled for the 2012 Detroit Motor Show, but it will probably be present at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show as well.
