Another major debut at L.A. Autoshow, the new G Convertible is the second member of the Infiniti Performance Line.

Basically the same as IPL G Coupe, the convertible comes with a three-piece retractable hardtop that makes it a proper rival for cars like Mercedes SLK350 and BMW 335ci.

The car is powered by a factory-tuned VQ37VHR 3.7-liter V6 with 343 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The engine is matched to an electronically controlled 7-speed automatic transmission with Downshift Rev Matching and quick-shift Drive Sport (DS) mode with magnesium paddle shifters and Adaptive Shift Control (ASC).

It comes with IPL-tuned high-flow exhaust system that not only plays a major role in the engine’s output, also gives it a sporty noise.

Infiniti realizes that there is more to a sports coupe/convertible than just a V6 and loud exhausts. So they’ve also worked o the car’s dynamic by fitting it with IPL suspension tuned for a firmer sportier ride for the sake of a better handling, but without major compromise on comfort. It also gets 4-wheel sport brakes (14-inch front, 13.8-inch rear) with aluminum-alloy opposed calipers (4-piston front/2-piston rear).
