Subaru released the first shots of the new Advanced Tourer Concept, to be unveiled at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show.
This stunning sport wagon will overshadow the other major debut they planned for this year’s show, the BRZ sports coupe. The Impreza will also be on display.
The Advanced Tourer previews the next Legacy and also the new design language, which you have to say is pretty awesome. If the car looks this good, and maintain its legendary Subaru qualities such as reliability and versatility, then we have a serious contender in the mid-size segment.
The ATC is powered by a downsized version of Subaru’s boxer engine which is now 1.6 liter in capacity, and is mated to the company’s new Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV). Obviously, it gets the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) technology. A CVT gearbox is also there to channel the power to the diff.
As mentioned, the new Subaru BRZ will also make its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. It is a sportier-ish version of Toyota FT-86. Here’s its major specifications:
Length x Width x Height: Wheelbase: 4,240 x 1,775 x 1,300mm 2,570mm
Engine type: 2.0 liter Horizontally-Opposed direct fuel injection engine
Transmission type: 6MT/E-6AT
Drive train: Rear-wheel drive
