This is new! 9,688 Dodge Charger Police Patrol Vehicles have been recalled over faulty ABS and headlamps.
The headlamp issue is not that serious, as it’s caused by an overheated bulb harness connector. But the ABS failure in a patrol car which has to do high speed chases on daily basis is pretty bad.
The ABS issue is caused by a badly placed ABS/ESC system fuse within the power distribution center which gets overheated and ruins proper function of the whole system.
NHTSA has confirmed the recall, and Chrysler is prepared to fix the affected cars. Dealers will replace the headlamp jumper harness and will also relocate the fuse. No crash or harm has yet been reported as a result of the aforementioned faults.
