Looks like Ford can’t wait till March and Geneva Motor Show, and decided to unveil the new B-MAX at the 2012 Mobile World Congress later this month.
Ford Motor Company executive chairman Bill Ford will unveil the all-new B-MAX personally in Barcelona, and will also deliver a keynote speech at MWC on the company’s vision for mobility in the future and future mobile technology for cars.
After the Barcelona event, Ford B-Max will get its real world debut at the 2012 Geneva show with CEO Alan Mulally at hand.
The new B-Max’s most striking features don’t have anything to do with mobile and electronic technologies anyway. They include the unique Easy Access Door System with central body pillars integrated into the sliding rear doors, and the new 1.0-litre 120PS EcoBoost petrol engine and a 1.6-litre TDCi diesel engine, both of which will offer class-leading fuel economy and CO2 emissions.
Still, Ford top brass has its own reasons:
“Revealing the B-MAX at Mobile World Congress underlines how important technology is to customers and to Ford,” said Stephen Odell, chairman and CEO, Ford of Europe. “B-MAX will raise the bar for small vehicles in Europe, combining technology and premium engineering into a compact frame.”
