Italdesign Giugiaro, now part of the VW Group, unveiled its Brivido concept car at the opening night of Geneva Motor Show.

Brivido is synonymous with ‘Thrill’ and that’s a rather perfect name for this car. Well, it’s not that thrilling to look at it because it’s not really pretty, but the performance is brilliant.

The luxury four-seater sports GT is powered by a sophisticated hybrid system consisting of a 3.0-liter internal combustion engine developing 360hp and an electric motor which brings that up to a total output of 408hp.

They are both connected to a 8-speed automatic transmission which propels the car from 0 to 100km/h in 5.8 seconds and help it achieve a top speed of 275 km/h (171 mph). This is a fully functional concept and can actually do this numbers.

Giugiaro has paid great attention to comfort and convenience in this car, so beneath all the crazy gullwing door styling and fighter jet-like interior, it’s a very good long distance cruiser. It has a number of high-tech features such as a very clever iPad integration system, and an infotainment system.

The whole dashboard is actually TFT displays with beautiful graphics, but the real party piece is the new steering column featuring two monitors on each sides of the wheel, which act as the rear view mirrors.
