Among all the interesting stuff you find in a Koenigsegg Agera R, its engine is the most interesting bit of them all. It’s amazing how a small car maker from Sweden is capable of producing such an incredible piece of kit. The highly sophisticated 5.0 liter V8 engine has earned the car a couple of world records so far. It’s been updated for new model, shown at the Geneva Motor Show, and depending on the type of fuel you put in it, it makes between 940 to 1140 hp.
Now, obviously the best man to try and explain what this jewel of an engine is all about, is the man who came up with it in the first place. So let’s hand over to Christian von Koenigsegg himself as he explains details of the new V8.
