Yesterday we had feature story about the Porsche 918 Spyder prototype testing at Nardo in Italy. Evo Magazine’s founder Harry Metcalfe was one of the few journalists invited to the event back in February, and he has made a fantastic video from his encounter with the futuristic supercar. The car will go on sale in 2013 as the replacement for the Carrera GT, even though they don’t share anything other than the Porsche badge.
If you can’t be bother to read boring technical passages to learn about the 918’s specifications, check out this video. Harry, as always, talks so enthusiastically and with such great knowledge that he makes it interesting.

As a recap, Porsche 918 Spyder is a fantastically complicated super car with a hybrid system consisting of a race-bred 570 hp V8 engine from the RS Spyder race car in the middle, and two electric motors on the front axle. It has a total output of 770hp while remaining as fuel efficient as a family hatchback. It even has an electric mode for city driving. It’s just too complicated though.
