Award-winning director Martin Scorsese’s next film will be something that appeals most of all to car fans. It’s called ‘Silver Ghost’ and there’s a clue. The film isn about the history of Rolls Royce, and the lives of Lord John Douglas-Scott Montagu, Charles Rolls and Henry Royce. Scorsese is not directing it, he’s onboard as the producer. But his name in the production team is enough reason to go and watch the film.
The creator of masterpieces like Taxi Driver, Good Fellas, Raging Bull, Departed, and… is collaborating with Lord Richard Attenborough and Anthony Haas on the Rolls Royce project. They also have Sharman Macdonald, Keira Knightly’s mother, as the screenwriter. So hopefully Keira will end up playing the role of Eleanor Thornton.
Eleanor Thornton, for those who may not know, was the model for the Flying lady – the Spirit of Ecstasy – the emblem featured o the bonnet of every Rolls Royce. A large part of the film is about Lord Montagu’s relationships with Eleanor.
“When I read the story of ‘Silver Ghost’, I was mesmerized. I immediately thought this is a picture that has to be made. I didn’t hesitate for a moment.”Said Scorsese.
The project is in per-production phase and no actors and actresses have been signed yet. Good news is, Scorsese always attracts great cast.
