Peugeot unveiled yet another new model destined for the emerging markets and developing countries. Peugeot admits that by saying the car is designed to cope with hot countries, cold countries, and poor roads! The 301, as it’s called, won’t be offered in the most of Europe and UK. It slots below the 408, which is model designed specifically for the Russian market. It does like nice though, being an economy sedan and all. It looks like a mini 508.

The mid-size sedan has a length of 4.4 meters and a wheelbase of 2.8 meters, plus a 506 dm3 boot. It might have been developed as an economy model, but Peugeot didn’t skimp on safety features at least, giving the car ESP, ABS, up to four airbags, emergency braking assistance, ISOFIX, etc.

As for the convenience features, you get all the stuff you need, including electronic air conditioning, MP3 audio system with Bluetooth hands-free kit and USB connection, remote opening of the boot, rear parking assistance, and…

The 301 also comes with a range of good engines, including the same 1.2 liter 71bhp 3-cylinder that the 208 gets. Other options include a 1.6 l HDi 68 kW (92 bhp) with manual gearbox and a 1.6 l VTi 85 kW (115 bhp) with manual or automatic gearbox.

Peugeot will produce the new 301 at its Spanish plant in Vigo
