IPL as you may know is Infiniti’s high performance line, responsible for the hotted-up, sporty models based on the production cars. Following the G Coupe based on the G37, they launched the IPL G Convertible, the drop-top version, which must be the most fun car the Japanese brand has ever made. Problem is, it is priced at $60,000. That is a full 10 grand more than the Coupe.
Also, come to think of it, you have other choices in the price range – especially if you look at one or two-year old sports cars. You can get something much nicer and much more exotic than the G Cabio. But if your heart is set on the IPL G Cabrio, let us tell you there’s also an $895 destination and handling charge you need to add to the base price.
In return you get a convertible Infiniti G, powered by a 345 horsepower V6 engine, coupled to a 7-speed transmission and rear-wheel-drive. Think of this car as a posh Nissan 370Z. The IPL also gets unique 19-inch wheels, spot exhausts and sport suspension.
IPL-exclusive colors for exterior and interior are also available, and the roof is a retractable hardtop. It’s a nice car, but 60 grand…
