Nothing unusual here. Just a Fiat 500 with Ferrari V8 power! It’s a project by Lazzarini Design, in which they want to fit a Fiat 500 with the engine from the Ferrari 458 Italia. They call it Fiat 550 Italia. The engine obviously goes in the boot, because there’s no room for it under the bonnet, and it’s detuned to 550 horsepower. That’s probably enough, you know.

The engine is only part of the modification plan. The 500 also receives a massive body kit with completely new bumpers, massively flared wheel arches to accommodate the big new wheels, side sills, and a pretty sizable rear wing to generate downforce and push the back of the car down, stopping it from taking off.

For the time being the Fiat 550 Italia is just some images and Word documents in someone’s computer. But once they find an investor who’s willing to drop $550,000 on this car, they will make it.

That shouldn’t be hard. After all, we are living in a world where three people thought it’s a good idea to spend over half a million dollar on a Nissan Juke with a GTR engine in it! This Fiat is way cooler than the Nissan.
