Honda announced an update for the Jazz 1.2 i-VTEC to further reduce the car’s fuel consumption and emissions. The Jazz gets the fuel-saving Idle Stop technology as standard, which enables it to do 54.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 120 g/km. With this level of CO2 emissions Honda Jazz 1.2 classifies in tax band C and costs only £30 a year to tax in the United Kingdom.
The Idle Stop system used to be reserved for the hybrid models, CR-Z, Jazz Hybrid and Insight – as well as across the new Civic range. It shuts down the engine automatically when the car comes to a stop and is put in neutral with the foot off the clutch, and fires it up again when you press the clutch pedal to engage a gear. The transition is seamless and you won’t notice it.
As for the pricing, Honda Jazz 1.2 with Idle Stop costs £12,870, and also comes with Auto Climate Control and body coloured door handles and mirrors. Features-wise, it sits above the S grade.
The Jazz has always been popular among the elderly drivers in UK. This new feature will make it even more appealing.
