As a company McLaren has been around for many many years. But McLaren Automotive, a dedicated brand to make super cars, has been established exactly twelve months ago. And during that time they’ve accomplished an extraordinary feat. Making the MP4-12C super car and selling a 1000 units of it is only one of their accomplishments. McLaren Automotive is now up there with the big boys in the sport and luxury market.

A year ago McLaren opened its first dealership in London. Today they have a global network of retailers in 22 countries. And the number is going up constantly, as they appoint new dealers in parts of the world where McLaren brand is a complete stranger.

In its first year of business, McLaren Automotive also launched the McLaren Special Operations unit, a division for personalized vehicle in response to the growing demand for bespoke super cars by wealthy clients.

Besides the car making business, McLaren is also having a successful racing career. As McLaren GT prepared to enter two cars in the Blancpain Endurance Series race at Magny Cours, the new GT race car manufacturer announced that the first 25 12C GT3 race cars available to purchase for racing in 2012 were sold.

This time next year we are going to add launch of the new P12 hyper car to the list of McLaren’s accomplishments.
