Skoda is finally ready to unveil its new Rapid in full. The Rapid is the production version of Skoda MissionL concept, a car that plays a central role in the Czech car maker’s growth strategy alongside the new VW up-based Citigo. Skoda Rapid is not exactly a looker. Its redeeming feature is roominess and and interior space for its size as a compact car.
The car slots between the Fabia and the Octavia in Skoda’s range measuring 4.48 metres in length, 1.7 metres in width. It features the brand’s newly formulated design language. It is remarkably similar to the old design language, but hey, we’re talking about an economy-class car here. And it’s very decent compared to the other cars in this class, at least the one from the Eastern Bloc.
The Rapid will launch – after it made its debut at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show – with five petrol and two diesel engines, details of which will be released later. Skoda also promises excellent price-value ratio as well as comprehensive safety equipment. The car seems like it has all the bases covered.
