Chevrolet needs to revamp its media strategy and fire the guys who make their promotional videos. This clip here is a teaser for the new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Turbo which is due this fall. Now, last time we checked a ‘teaser’ was supposed to get your engine revving and get you excited about an upcoming product. Showing an old man driving slowly around a closed track is not going to cut it.
The car itself is not bad though. Powered by a new 2.0 liter turbo engine developing 259 horsepower (193 kW) and 260 lb.-ft. of torque (353 Nm), the Malibu Turbo can do 0 to 60 in 6.3 seconds. What’s more, it features regenerative braking and eAssist system. GM claims the car can do 25 mpg city, 37 highway.
As mentioned the 2013 Malibu turbo goes on sale in the autumn, with a base price of $25,995.
