Following its debut in the Japanese domestic market, the new redesigned Mazda MX-5 will be launched in the United Kingdom later this year. Besides the exterior and interior improvements to make the Roadster Coupe and the classic Soft-top models look and feel fresh, the Facelifted MX-5 also features enhanced safety features and refined driving attributes. Mazda has just tweaked the successful recipe of the car.
The visual changes are great. With the new front bumper that is more aggressive and more aerodynamic, the car looks more manly, and the refreshed panel décor and matching steering wheel spokes make the interior look better. There is also a new color, Dolphin Grey Mica, available to order.
To make the world’s best sports car even better, Mazda has modified the throttle pedal actuation on manual models to be more responsive, and also revised characteristics of the vacuum brake-booster to optimise brake return control. These seemingly small changes are made to make sure the car will put an even bigger smile on your face when you want to play a little.
The new MX-5 also introduces Mazda’s new ‘active bonnet’ pedestrian protection system which automatically raises the trailing edge of the bonnet if a pedestrian impact is detected.
Pricing for the Mazda MX-5 Facelift is yet to be revealed.
