The new Suzuki Alto SZ trim level becomes UK’s most inexpensive new car with a base price of just £5,995. Obviously, with a price tag like that you cannot expect to get a lot. The Alto is small, ugly, and doesn’t have any cheerful features we can mention. But if all you want is a cheap car with four wheels and the ability to keep you sheltered from the rain while moving you from A to B, then the Alto makes an awful lot of sense.
Powering the Alto is a gutless engine with almost no horsepower at all and only 90Nm/66lbft of torque. Zero to 60 and top speed figures are completely irrelevant here, but will it cheer you up if we tell you it does 65.7mpg and has CO2 emissions of 99g/km?
When it comes to the equipments you realize how Suzuki has managed to offer this car for that price. They mention fabric trim, new full wheel covers for SZ and SZ3 models and dipping rear view mirror as the highlights of the car’s features. You also have the option of Glistening Grey metallic color for the exterior.
Honestly, you are far better off with the the SZ4. Not that it’s very good, but at least it’s not as depressing as the SZ.
