Harris BAC Mono at Chris Harris Test BAC Mono In The Wet

BAC Mono is British sports car, a track car to be more precise, built by a Cheshire-based firm. There are many interesting facts about this car, but perhaps the most interesting of them all is the way this thing looks. It is basically a single-seater open-wheeled car, and even though it has a body, you get to see most of its mechanical parts working, like an Ariel Atom. Now, ideally a car like this should be tested in dry, but for Chris Harris’ session behind the wheel it was lashing with rain. Well, that makes it even more exciting.

The 540 kg car is by 2.3 liter, 280bhp four-cylinder Cosworth engine. With that incredible power to weight ratio the Mono is capable of hitting 60 mph from 0 in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 170 mph. You wouldn’t expect such a thing to handle though, but amazingly, that is the best thing about it. Especially in the rain, as Chris find out, the car handles like an absolute charm. What a thing!
