We are only weeks away from catching our first glimpse of the new Jaguar F-Type, the finest car Jaguar has made in a very long time. The British car maker just made it official they will unveil the F-Type – in full production trim – at the 2012 Paris Motor Show on 27th September. But they are not yet ready to show us the car.
As reported earlier, the new F-Type sports car will launch with a choice of two engines. One is Jag’s new supercharged V6 with two power outputs of 340PS and 380PS, and the other a version of the existing supercharged 5.0 liter V8 with up to 500 PS. All models are rear-driven and feature an eight-speed transmission as well as stop/start system.
As far as the looks matter, the F-Type is basically a drop-top version of the Jaguar C-X16 concept, so it won’t disappoint. It has proportions of a classic drop-top sports car with short overhangs and a long bonnet, and an interior full of leather and weather. The roof will be a folding soft-top.
