You are probably familiar with the Ford EcoSport, a small crossover by the Detroit giant based on global B-segment platform. At its ‘Go Further’ event Ford revealed a version of the EcoSport that will go on sale in Europe over the next 18 months. Developed entirely in South America, the EcoSport is one of the affordable and efficient cars in this segment.

The car was first developed as an economy global model, but it turned out good enough to be considered for Europe as well. And with the demand for a small and fuel efficient crossover on the rise in the green continent, Ford decided to give it a go.

With its large front grille; slim, detailed headlights; and cladding on the side sills and bumpers, the Ecosport looks kinda cutesy and cool, but you can tell it was conceived as an eco car. The European model will comes pretty much fully loaded though, featuring stuff like Ford SYNC in-car connectivity system, Emergency Assistance, as well as anti-lock brake system, Electronic Stability Program, and Hill Launch Assist.

Ford EcoSport will be joined in Europe by the Kuga and the Edge.
