Looks like the next step for American billionaire, massive petrolhead, and Ferrari lover James Glickenhaus is Le Mans racing, and the LMP class no less. He already has the Ferrari P4/5 Competizione which he uses for races like the Nurburgring 24 hours. But apparently it’s not satisfying anymore. James wants to go bigger, so he’s making a new car based on the P4/5.
The P4/5 started life a a coachbuilt Ferrari Enzo for Glikenhaus’ personal garage. But then he commissioned the Competizione, mainly because the original P4/5 was not that usable due to its nature as a valuable collectible object. Now they released the first sketches of the new toy, the P4/5 LMP.They hope to make it ready for a 2014 debut.
The LMP is still an idea on a piece of paper and might never happen. LMP1 class is a far greater challenge than what the team behind the P4/5 have faced before. But if they do make it we’re going to start watching the races. Compared to the current LMP cars from Audi, Peugeot and Toyota, this Ferrari looks awesome. We would look at it for 24 hours.
No details on the car’s technical specs are available yet, but that’s because they are not decided yet.
