The location is Musée Rodin, Paris. Jaguar has assembled a selected group of celebs and VIPs – including the new brand ambassador Lana Del Ray – and they are about to bring the Jaguar F-Type on the stage and introduce it to the world. The F-Type is the first sports car the British company has built since the iconic E-type 50 years ago. Quite an occasion then.
Here’s a short clip from the car’s unveiling ceremony including tidbits from Ian Callum, the man who penned this amazing car and a few words from some of the guests:
Following the reveal, singer Lana Del Rey took to the stage and performed a new track ‘Burning Desire’, that she has written as part of her collaboration with F-TYPE. The track is confirmed to be the sound track to a short film that is being produced in association with Ridley Scott Associates and will feature on her new album. Starring Golden Globe nominated and Emmy Award winning actor Damian Lewis, the short film is scheduled to be filmed in South America next month and will be released early 2013.
As for the car, well we have it all covered right here. But to recap quickly, the F-Type sports roadster comes with either a supercharged V6 – available in two 340 and 380 PS guises – or a 495 PS supercharged V8. There is the normal, S, and V8 S models to choose from, with the sporty S models featuring stuff like active exhausts and retractable rear spoiler. Pricing starts at around 60,000 GBP and goes up to about 80,000.
