Singapore, Asia’s Monte Carlo, is where McLaren is sending three very unique special editions of the MP4-12C super car. Called the SGP Edition, these models are no faster than the standard car, but they do look much cooler, thanks to a unique paint job on the outside and matching interior. The SGP will cost three Singaporeans S$1.28 million (~ $990,000 USD).
So basically they are paying $ 1 million for that paint job. Sounds a bit steep, but then it’s pretty unique with a black base and exquisite Rocket Red highlights and silver pin-stripes, kinda like McLaren’s Formula 1 car. They also get front and rear bumpers and ultra lightweight wheels from McLaren Special Operations unit (MSO).
It is still hard to swallow that price though. You can buy a normal MP4 and take it to a local tuning shop where they can apply any paint job and liveries you want for 10 grand tops!
Anyway, exclusivity has its price, has it not. The SGP 12Cs get the 2013 updated powertrain with 620 horsepower, better throttle, and a louder exhaust.
