Ford’s highly publicized 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine goes on sale inside the Ford C-MAX and Grand C-MAX in the British market, priced from £17,695 and £19,795 respectively. This ‘International Engine of the Year’ is available in two tunes for the C-MAX brothers, with either 100PS or 125PS.

Estimated fuel consumption for the C-MAX is 55.4mpg, and for the Grand C-MAX 54.3mpg. CO2 emissions are 117 and 119 g/km respectively.

Featuring turbocharging, direct fuel injection and variable valve timing on both intake and exhaust, the 1.0-liter EcoBoost is the absolute highlight of these model, but to make them more appealing Ford has also announced a Titanium X series for the C-MAX, with standard equipment including a panoramic roof, xenon headlamps with jet wash, partial leather seats, heated front seats, power driver seat, new style 17in alloy wheels and, in the five-seat C-MAX, a comfort rear seat system.

Other advanced technology features included in these small cars are SYNC in-car connectivity system with Emergency Assistance, Active City Stop, Lane Keeping Aid, Lane Departure Warning, Auto High Beam, Driver Alert and Traffic Sign Recognition. You have to say at those prices they offer pretty good value for money.
