Subaru turned up at the 2012 SEMA with a pair of special edition WRX and WRX STI model. These cars preview the latest batch of special editions WRX cars Subaru is about to launch, limited to 300 units and featuring an “Orange and Black” custom paint scheme.
Visually, both cars feature Tangerine Orange paint with jet black custom wheels, black front fender badging and exterior mirrors, as well as some black graphics. Inside the cabin dark interior trim is joined by orange stitching on the seats, doors and shift boot, and custom orange trimmed floor mats.
Featuring 265hp and 305hp BOXER engines, the WRX and WRX STI models go on sale from Spring of 2013, with 200 WRX and 100 WRX STI planned for production. The high-end STI models comes with a six-speed manual transmission and exclusive Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD), as well as Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE) and a Multi-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system.
These cars weren’t at SEMA. Some marketing genius at Subaru decided to pull their exhibit from the show. They did however, have a stand at CES out by the garbage bins…the leadership at this company is out of touch. pull from SEMA for CES – how stupid is that?
