Toyota and PSA Group (Peugeot-Citroen) have made small city cars together, and they made crossovers. Now it’s time to hit the commercial vehicles market, and for that Peugeot is lending Toyota its Expert van so they can make the new ProAce based on it. This car is also produced as Citroen Jumpy.
This multi-talented CV can be had as Panel Van, Glass Van and Crew Cab people carrier, offering a load capacity of 5m3, 6m3 or 7m3 depending on the setup. Maximum payload is 1,200 kg.
Available engines are all diesels, including a 1.6 liter unit with 90 PS and 180 Nm of torque, as well as a 2.0 liter unit with either 128 PS and 320 Nm, or 163 PS and 340 Nm. The 1.6 liter comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the 2.0 liter gets a six-speed.
This Europe-only van also features ABS and brake force distribution system, as well as vehicle stability control (VSC) and daytime running LEDs as standard safety features.
Design-wise, well, it’s an Expert, but it does get Toyota’s own grille, doors and interior trims.
